Happy first week of February, and we ALL know what that means! Countless Lifetime movies, chocolates EVERYWHERE, and the smell of love in the air 😉
Today we are going to get to the bottom of the “Love” smell and even give you a little witchy love bath to bring love to yourself and your surroundings.
So how does a smell make us feel like we are in love? It all boils down to our hormone levels and what they tell our mind. Research has found that some of the more spicy, earthy notes are the prize winners that create an increase of:
Testosterone and Oestrogen (sex hormones)
Dopamine and Serotonin (attraction hormones)
Oxytocin (attachment hormone)
What does this mean? Let us use one of my “turn on “scents LOL. So I am walking down the street and my nose finds a trace of the most seductive scent (in my opinion) Ylang Ylang. I now have this tantalizing scent triggering my brain and linking it to my memory and emotion thus causing the physical reaction of increased libido and sexual attraction.
It is science at its best. Aromatherapy has been around for 5000 years (give or take) and there are some pretty powerful woman that have been reported (more then likely by the help staff or the jaded lovers) to use the art of smell to get their way. You may know some of them – Cleopatra, Esther, Catherine Queen of France, and Mary Queen of Scots to name a few. These were all very powerful women that used aromatherapy to not only fortify their confidence but make a few powerful men smitten.
Here is my top five “love” essential oils and how they react with your brain:
Please use these wonderful spicy earthy scents to help bring love into your life and this doesn’t mean just the love you feel when you are with a partner but also use them to help yourself love yourself.
And so I feel like I helped LOL here is a little sassy oil that you can use for just about anything – massage oil, oil burner, special bath time to name a few.
2 drops lavender
3 drops ylang ylang
3 tablespoon almond oil
Enjoy your month of endless love but don’t forget that is means love yourself also!
As always tons of kisses xxxx
